Parking lot behind Emerson Centre's office at 203 S. Vienna Street in Ruston (across the street from the Lincoln Parish Courthouse).  All proceeds from the sale will benefit Emerson Centre.

August 11, 2008, Results of the Fifth Annual Jason Waltman Golf Tournament 

Emerson Centre's Fifth Annual Jason Waltman Golf Tournament was a huge success.  Emerson Centre wants to thank all those who participated in the event as well as all of our generous sponsors.  This tournament would have not been a success without you!  We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

June 27, 2008 - Fifth annual 'Jason Waltman Golf Tournament'

Friday, July 11, until Sunday, July 13, 2008.  The tournament is a 'closest to the hole' competition with 27 holes and 27 chances to win.  Sponsors have contributed over $1500 for prizes.  Four holes will have a $1000 prize given to anyone making a hole in one.  The entry fee is $40.  All proceeds from the tournament go to support the Emerson Centre.

For many of us, Jason Waltman was a beloved student and friend, who tragically died in the fall of 2005.  I know Jason cared about me and the mission of the Emerson Centre.  He played in our 2005 tournament to support the Emerson Centre even though he was not a very good golfer, and he played with great enthusiasm.  I do not believe that anyone had more fun playing in the tournament than Jason.  He was in the lead to win one hole with a shot that was 76'11' from the hole, but the very last competitor edged him out with a shot of 11'8'.  However, in my heart, Jason was the true winner.  In Jason's honor, let's tee it up, have a lot of fun and support the Emerson Centre.

June 1, 2008 - Beaird Foundation Grant

Emerson Centre would like to thank the Beaird Foundation whose generous grant has enabled us to purchase laptop computers and software for our staff.  The Beaird Foundation started a project with Emerson Centre last year by giving us a grant that allowed us to purchase Therascribe software for our organization.  With their generosity this year, we are able to build upon that project and continue to grow as an organization.
